ARECA Insurance Exchange

ARECA Insurance Exchange, APA’s sister organization, provides multi-line coverage to many Alaska electric and telephone utilities. AIE is the clear choice for utilities in Alaska seeking to effectively manage and lower the total cost of their risk. It is a service-oriented insurer with an A- rating from A.M. Best.

Eighteen Alaska utilities are members of ARECA Insurance Exchange. The policyholders are also the owners of the exchange, and may receive a share of the company’s annual underwriting and investment profits.

ARECA Insurance Exchange (AIE) has a partnership with Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange, a Kansas City-based reciprocal insurance company that serves more than 700 electric and telephone cooperatives in the Lower 48. Through a consulting services agreement signed in 2014, AIE and Federated have worked together to enhance the coverages and services received by AIE’s Alaska electric utility subscribers. With Federated’s extensive resources and staff support at our fingertips, your Alaska-based AIE staff is well equipped to provide affordable insurance and exceptional member-focused customer service. It’s all part of our mission to be the insurance provider of choice for the electric utilities that power Alaska.

If you are a representative of a utility interested in joining the exchange, please contact AIE Executive Vice President Crystal Enkivst at 907-771-5703 or cenkvist@alaskapower.org.
